Piedmont Wine and Wineries, wine tours and farm holidays
Piedmont produces some well known DOC and DOCG wines of great quality, expecially red wines, such as Barolo and Barbera del Monferrato. The various production areas are linked by the type of cultivation of vines, which occurs almost exclusively on hilly terrain.
Very famous is the region of "Langhe", production area of many wines produced with Nebbiolo grapes like Barolo and Dolcetto. Asti gives its name to an area known for the eponymous sparkling wine but also other wines such as Barbera d'Asti or Dolcetto d'Alba.
The hills of Monferrato are the production zone of Barbera del Monferrato, prince among DOCG, and other great wines like Gavi and Cortese. Other production areas are the Canavese and the Carema.
In Piedmont you can easily find a farm holidays for you stay and enjoy fresh and organic products.
